RPG Maker Community; The Sims and EA Games

I'm a very big fan of The Sims franchise. Always have ever since the original Sims game. But am I the only one who thinks EA is charging us an arm and a leg for practically everything they sell? It really has begun to bother me because all I'm thinking is: "Is it worth it to pay for all of these add-ons and expansion packs?" I haven't seen very many good quality games lately, only apps (which I hardly consider games anyway). They have a good quality game and I'm paying for it. I won't illegally download any of the Sims games anyway. It just bothers me. Voice your opinions about this~ I'd truly like to hear them.

I always thought expansion packs were too expensive. It was only when I desperately wanted an expansion that I would buy it, and it would mostly only be for one thing in it.

Yeah, I understand that. My step-dad used to buy the first few for me because he knew that I liked them, but now I'm so far behind with all of the things they have... I really want generations and the new supernatural one coming out

Well think of it this way, Sims is really fun for you, correct? You think that pretty much every game that you've played was good, right? Well if it's so good, then why would you spend money on an okay expansion pack on something that's already good. It's like adding dirt to a cake. Expensive dirt.

Because the "expensive dirt" adds more features that are pretty desirable as I feel that they make it more life-like or more fun

I get modded stuff for most of my furniture because sometimes it is better than the content you could buy. But I wish they would stick to several things and just update those >__<''

I guess. I don't own too many Sims games. I just know that I had like one expansion pack, and I didn't really see what the hype was all about. But everyone is different, I suppose.
I guess you just have to tell yourself whether the money is worth the added feature.

That's what I did. I only bought ones that I really thought were worth it and that I wanted it. For example, an expansion where you were given musical instruments and a college!

Okay, the musical instruments (for obvious reasons) and the college expansion does sound pretty cool.

Which one is the college expansion apart of? Generations? Or are you talking about the Sims 2?

Sims 2. I only have Sims 3 of the Sims 3 games. I outgrew Sims last year, finally. I use to make music videos with them, haha.

Music videos? That sounds cool.

I only had Sims 2. The game broke pretty early on, so I didn't get the full experience. When I did play it, though, it was on my laggy computer.

Haha, you can never outgrow the Sims xD My mom is 36 and she still loves it. I actually made stories for mine xD they were weird. I could maybe post the links on here?

Get the Sims 2 again

I loved that one a lot. Or.. get the Sims 3 because it's updated and such haha. It's pretty fun to start poor and work your way up ^___^
